Newton North Track Coach Joe Tranchita was inducted into the Waltham High School Hall of Fame<\/a> on Friday night. The inductees were presented at half time of the Waltham football game this afternoon at Leary field Gallery<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Tranchita ran under the guidance of coach, and WHS Hall of Famer, J. Lee Gould before beginning a career in coaching. He coached several Waltham High girls to state prominence in the 1980s before moving to Newton North where his teams have continued to excel and are the reigning girls indoor state champions. He is also the director of the Waltham Youth Track Club that has produced 64 All-Americans<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
