The 2012 Newton North Girls Track team was honored by the city of Newton for their outstanding 2011-12 season, which included wins of the indoor state relays<\/a>, Bay State Conference<\/a>, Division 1<\/a>, and state open<\/a> as well as the outdoor state relays<\/a>, bay state conference<\/a>, division 1<\/a> and state open<\/a> championship meets. Carla Forbes was honored for winning the indoor national triple jump championship<\/a> and the outdoor long jump and triple jump national championship and for being named Massachusetts Track Athlete of the Year<\/a> by ESPN. <\/p>\n
